BHP Billiton is currently undertaking a study to determine the feasibility of developing a significant laterite nickel deposit in Eastern Indonesia. The opportunity would involve the construction of world-class mining facilities, a process plant and associated infrastructure. SECURITY MANAGER (REF: 419482)

This is a key role managing the security operations and related requirements for the multiple locations within the Pearl Project where you will provide a coordinated approach to the provision of security on the Project and anticipate the upcoming requirements in the Study phase to BHP Billiton standards.

Reporting to the Assets Manager, you will be responsible for establishing and implementing Security policies and procedures for the Pearl Project. You will also be responsible for designing and implementing remedial actions that may be required as a result of Security issues or audits. The overall management of all security personnel, performance management review and team building will allow you to develop a highly skilled and professional team.

Your substantial experience in Security Manager roles will be supplemented by qualifications in Security Management. You will have demonstrated leadership abilities and experience in the implementation of Security Systems, ideally within multinational corporate or resources setting. Extensive experience providing residential security for expatriates and understanding of expatriate requirements and potential risk areas, as well as experience working with or within Indonesian Military or Police will allow you to effectively develop in this dynamic position. Fluent communication skills in both English and Indonesian bahasa are essential along with sound report writing.

This position will require the majority of time spent working in several remote project site locations.

PUBLIC RELATIONS MANAGER (REF: 169507)

This pivotal role will require a dynamic and innovative individual to lead the development and implementation of external communications strategies for the Pearl Project, ensuring that key messages are disseminated and understood by internal and external stakeholders. Your major responsibilities will be to monitor the views of our major stakeholders and maintain constructive dialogue with key opinion makers including the media. You will also be accountable for co-ordinating a consistent and accurate message about the project to the general public and all layers of government through targeted media campaigns, and official publications.

Degree qualified in Communications or potentially a technical discipline you will have proven credentials in External Relations from your previous experience in a multinational organisation and experience in engaging with a diverse range of audiences. Ideally you are strongly consultative, collaborative and consensus-building, with a strong understanding of the cultural sensitivities in Indonesia.

This is a Jakarta-based position with frequent travel to site.

LAND COMPENSATION SUPERINTENDENT (REF: 410510)

You will be accountable for developing strategies and action plans for the acquisition of land in accordance with government regulations and project management timelines. This position will require an ability to negotiate with land owners to achieve win-win solutions and benefits for the local communities.

You will have significant experience in handling land compensation, including a strong background in negotiation with the related community and conflict resolution. Your tertiary qualification will support this demonstrated experience, along with your action-orientated and committed attitude and a sound understanding of the communities of Eastern Indonesia.

OFFICE MANAGER – SORONG (REF: 438516)

This role will be responsible for the day to day operations of our Sorong Office (in Papua) including Safety, financial services, administration, transport, logistics and supply according to BHP Billiton standards. You will be required to supervise and coordinate general administration functions of the office including office systems and procedures, administration of local contracts, management of accounts payable/receivable in conjunction with the Jakarta office. You will also require organizing the purchase and maintenance of office supplies and equipment. This role will support a smooth and efficient operation of our site activities through managing both internal and external communications including the government and community relations for the project.

Previous experience in managing a remote office environment and multi-disciplinary office will be well regarded. Your proven ability in administrative function and process improvement will compliment your background. A team player and good communication skills in both English and Bahasa Indonesia are essential. Significant experience working in logistics, finance and purchasing.

This is Sorong (Papua) based position.

SITE MANAGER (REF: 447324)

Reporting to the Construction Manager, you will be responsible for the overall site activities in Eastern Indonesia to ensure smooth and efficient operation. You will be required to effectively troubleshoot and investigate innovative solutions that provide a win-win outcome. In this broad role you will ultimately be responsible for but not limited to overseeing Community Relations, HSE, Security, Camp, Logistics and Geological teams.

You will have gained substantial skills and experience in working with site personnel and managing the site facilities, i.e. mine site, camp, etc. An all-round Project Manager, who can multi-task and delegate requirements, will enhance the effective management of your various teams. A strong Health and Safety focus will assist in achieving Zero harm whilst a demonstrated proactive engagement with local community will be highly advantageous.

This is a site based position.
